Hello,
I cannot make the event but will be sending in some support dollars.
Thanks for your continued help on the fight for electric choice.
The Utilities are trying to push the MPSC to apply a local capacity charge that far exceeds the ACTUALMARKET for Generation established by MISO and it is NOT right or Fair.
The Energy Law that passed did NOT require local generation and yet its being pushed by Michigan Utilities who’s electric rates are the highest in the Midwest and the highbred system in MI is NOT the cause of that, its the Utilities continued over reach and the MPSC not pushing back and protecting rate payers. Utilities Testimony and press statements from 2008 promised new generation for getting 90% of all customers and they have not built any new MI based generation to meet the next 20 years as they promised. The MPSC should go back and study the numbers to make the Utilities build what is needed for the money they already collected. State employees have lost benefits since 2008 yet the utilities have continued to get guaranteed returns north of 7% and high as 10.5 % resulting in millions if not billions of dollars going to share holders since then.
I urge you and thank you for the continued fight for our right to choose and help save jobs through competitive electric rates in Michigan.
